The perfect balance
A cello’s voice is only as good as its setup. That’s why we meticulously refine every instrument with the finest bridges, premium strings, and expert soundpost positioning. Our craftsmanship ensures each cello reaches its full potential—resonant, expressive, and alive with soul. Whether new or antique, student or professional, every cello we prepare is tuned to perfection.

The Story of The Little Cello Shop
The journey of The Little Cello Shop began with a simple yet profound pursuit—a player searching for the perfect sound. As a cellist, I found myself endlessly experimenting, swapping out strings, testing different bridge cuts, adjusting tailpieces, and fine-tuning soundposts. I worked through virtually every major string brand and countless bridge styles, discovering firsthand just how much a setup could unlock—or hold back—the true voice of a cello.
This relentless search turned into a deep fascination. I realized that the right combination of materials, positioning, and craftsmanship could transform an instrument, revealing the richness and resonance hidden within. What began as a personal quest evolved into a mission: to help others find their perfect sound by preparing cellos with meticulous attention to detail.
But my passion didn’t stop at sound. I’ve always been a color addict—an artist at heart. As a professional hand-dyer, I developed a keen understanding of color, texture, and blending, which naturally led me to the art of restoration. Varnish work became another form of expression, a way to breathe life back into aging cellos and make repairs disappear like magic.
At The Little Cello Shop, every instrument is more than just wood and strings—it’s a voice waiting to be heard, a story waiting to be told. Whether it’s a student’s first cello or a seasoned performer’s lifelong companion, I take pride in crafting setups that bring out the best in every instrument. My goal is simple: to ensure that every cello sings with the soul it was meant to have.
