The setup

Setup Report

This cello has undergone a full professional setup, including a new top nut, bridge, soundpost, strings, and the installation of geared pegs. After these adjustments, the instrument was given time to settle before final tonal refinements were made. The addition of geared pegs allowed us to experiment with a gut string setup, which confirmed that the older construction style is particularly well-suited to the resonance and warmth of gut strings. However, for accessibility and versatility, the current string setup features Larsen strings, making this cello perfectly suited for all genres of music, from Baroque to modern repertoire.
